Will Solve Captcha for Money?

7 Sep 06:29
I've taken the title straight from Slashdot. Its an interesting post about freelancers willing to crack captcha's for money (an not much!). It makes you wonder if there would ever be a safe solution to form population. I've been thinking about a new solution that would probaby deter a little a longer which would be a mix of captcha's and questions. If the image was a readable question (like 2+2) then put in the answer, else just copy the words. What do you think?

Doug boud has got a great post if you are new or still treading the water when it comes to OO in ColdFusion. Going through the terminology and laying it out in lay terms which couldn't be easier to grasp unless he drew pictures.

Snippets in CFEclipse (or any IDE) are just a handy feature. But whats even better are the snippet variables. These are a pre-set, built-in list of system available variables available to the snippet.

More than an aggregator

16 Aug 13:29
Niel M of Feed-Squirrel has noted that the majority of his users are interested in CF ... no seriously they are (only joking Neil) :o) But what this has made him think, how can an aggregator expand on this and become more of an asset to the community? So if you've been thinking on how you could make a aggregator better than all the others but don't have the time drop him a line in his comments. They don't even have to be RSS related either.

Finally upgraded

4 Aug 03:10
I finally managed to updated my blog code to version 5 of Rays code. The upgrade went smoothly as usual, with the only problem being changing the layout. I don't think I like the one I have at the moment but I have been after a three column design for a while. I found this layout at the Open Source Web Design site. It was simple easy to implement, like most of there designs are.

Below is the SQL (for MySQL, though easily adapted) update script I'm using for the updgrade, with Rays comments about the changes included. You have to be running v4+ of BlogCFC for this to work! Before running the SQL please read through it! Along with the new table and fields there are two UPDATE statements which affects your data.

Vote on the unofficial CF8 survey wishlist

28 Jul 03:15
There has been quite a few posts about wishlists and directions for CF8 and with this in mind Tariq Ahmed of dopejam.com has used Survey monkey to set up quite a definitive list of features for everyone to vote on. Though this is unofficial it'll be good to see the results as long as a broad section vote!
