ColdFusion Open-Source Update - January 21, 2007

22 Jan 02:41
Five new projects and one update this week. Once again I spend a rare vacation day writing this post...at least no one can fault my dedication :). On a side note, I am sure you all heard the big news in the NFL this week. What?? No, not that! Its the hiring of Tony Sparano (that's Sparano) as the head coach of the Dolphins. On the plus side, he is entering a job where its nearly impossible to do worse than your predecessors.

This is the first in a series of interviews I will be doing with speakers from this year's CFUnited conference. As the guinea pig...er...first interviewee, I invited my friend and ColdFusion luminary, Matt Woodward.

Two new projects and 7 updates this week. This edition comes late due to the extended power outage in my neighborhood caused by today's snow storm. Well, that and my God you guys posted a lot this week. Sheesh!

ColdFusion Open-Source Update - January 7, 2008

Two new projects and one update this week. A quiet week as releases and announcements go, but very busy in the tutorial department. On a side note, I am no LSU fan but will be rooting for them tonight. I just don't like Ohio State and it would be nice to see them blown out two years in a row. Sorry, Ohio, it's not you really...

Trying CFInterface...Not Seeing the Point

3 Jan 06:40
I am finally getting back to working on my Illudium PU-36 Code Generator which is getting a major overhaul to support things like table and column aliasing among other things. Anyway, in doing so I had what seemed like the perfect use case for interfaces in ColdFusion. Basically, there is a separate component for each supported RDBMS within the generator that each have to implement indentical methods.

One new project, one revived project and two updates this week. Happy New Year!

ColdFusion Open-Source Update - December 17, 2007

Four new projects and one update this week. In celebration the Dolphins lone win this season (and avoiding a dubious position in the record books) I will be taking next week off from this update - well that and some holiday occurring next week. Actually, I am off to Miami as of tomorrow night, which is seeming much more appealing after all the snow (and my aching back) this past week.

ActiveRecord with Transfer ORM

15 Dec 02:57
Sean Corfield's recent comment on a post by Peter Bell turned on a light bulb in my head this morning. Basically, his comment was that a decorated bean in Transfer ORM already has access to the Transfer framework. What this means is you can easily access any of the functionality of Transfer from within the decorator. Let's look at an example of what this allows you to do.
