GoogleCal Update

6 Aug 22:40
I've updated my GoogleCal project. I finally have a (slightly) better understanding of Google's API (which I still say is way more complex than it needs to be!) and it lead to a much slimmer CFC and a simpler API. For folks who are using this now, you must read the docs first as the API to the CFC has been changed. I've also added support for deleting events. Editing events shouldn't be too hard so I'll try to get that in soon.

Transfer 1.1 Out

4 Aug 22:25
The title says it all, the latest release of Transfer has been released to the intertubes. While a lot was updated, the main focus of the release was related to performance, which is always a good thing. Mark goes into more detail here: Transfer 1.1 Release Candidate Oops - looks like it's a Release Candidate, not the "Final" release, but it is definitely worth checking out!

Ask a Jedi: Two quick ColdFusion Component questions

4 Aug 19:38
Esmeralda (what a cool name) asks: I am attempting to use Coldfusion Components. I have two questions - first, if there are multiple instances of a component on one page, would it be better to use cfinvoke or createObject? Secondly, is there an efficient way to use a component method within a loop? Currently it will include that file during each include, when all I really need is the method from said component.

ColdFusion Cookbook Update

2 Aug 00:18
Just some quick update on the ColdFusion Cookbook. First off, thank you to everyone who responded to my last call for help. We got more content online and updated the code highlighter thanks to your help. Please keep the submissions coming. To make it quicker, I've removed the biggest blocker for new submissions. Me. I've added Galleon Forums to the site as a way for users to submit, and help flesh out, new entries.
