Inexpensive CF hosting turns into cheap one

15 November 2007 16:22 (EST)
Recently my hosing provider (HostingFuse) has decided to upgrade their hardware, what supposed to be a good move.

In reality this turns into hell with unprofessional database transfer (InnoDB tables were out of sync, so two websites were down for about 24 hours), inadequate support (9-5 helpdesk instead of advertised 24x7), and data loss in the end (incorrect charset for number of tables after the sync, delayed fix and backup restore overwriting most recent data).

In addition these guys were constantly blocking Googlebot without any notification by the reason of high load of CF server during indexing (this have happened before).

So, I am moving out... any good options to consider?

I feel sorry about the issues.

As you are looking for recommendations, I would like to recommend the host that I have been using for over an year. It is http://www.hostingatoz.com . They have CF 7 and have been proven reliable for me so far. Good uptime and support. You may would like to give them a try.

The good shared hosting providers would be HostMySite and CFDynamics. Other than that, you can try your luck with CrystalTech (seems like they're either great or horrible, depending on what server you get stuck on), or GoDaddy (very cheap, haven't heard of anyone using them, though).
